Awareness
A.R. Siders of the University of Delaware:
The real human issues are not poverty, crime, inequality, hostility and violence, illiteracy, cancer and disease, even war, torture, and mass murder.
The real human issue is a lack of awareness.
Greater awareness derives only from an enhanced sensory experience.
I can already read the responses that claim that meditation, yoga, religion, experience, wisdom, acupuncture, Reiki, programs like Landmark, and a host of other techniques raise awareness as well.
If this were true than we would not have the wars and violence we have now.
When I was being 'educated' teachers insisted I had 5 senses. Senses are the routes of awareness, the way the outside world is perceived by the organism. The less senses you use the less aware you are. Pretty simple, really.
Like 1+1=2. Now, almost 50 years later, children are still taught that they have 5 sensory systems.
Most of us are not 'awake' until we open our eyes in the morning.
Increased awareness is a result of the development of lobes of the brain that store recognition cues and other data. You are already using at least 13 senses and current neuroscience claims there at at least 21. The 5 senses are very good at perceiving the material world, the world of objects and object interactions.
Einstein's E=mc2 affirms that our world is energetic as well as material and that the energetic aspects dominate our universe.
The additional senses, that we must cultivate, are designed to perceive the energetic aspects. Again simple and direct.
Until we develop the human brain to be conscious of the information received by additional senses we will continue to have confused perception of the energetic aspects. This lack of development produces confusing and conflicting views of god, religion, mysticism, the psychic, miracles, magic, and the energetic realms such as heaven or hell.
To summarize, we are living in a nightmare of perception with war, disease, pollution, and violence constantly present.
We need to wake up, look back, and realize that it was only a dream.
